As your leading AgTech startup, we are quite pleased to announce that our Trustee Programme is broadening our reach across Nigeria and strengthening our commitment to the fight against hunger and poverty in the land!
The Growsel Trustee Programme is designed to incorporate professionals and agricultural associations like agriculture extension workers, agriculture cooperative societies and farmers’ association into the Growsel business model to coordinate activities of Growsel farmers in their communities and Local Government Areas.
Throwing more light on the Growsel Trustee Programme, Growsel’s CEO, Jerry Oche, says that the programme was introduced in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 1 and 2, which is targeted at achieving ‘No Poverty and Zero Hunger’.
The programme seeks to help farmers break the chain of poverty by joining the drive towards food sufficiency, through increment in their production capacity, which is achieved by providing them with adequate funds and improved farm inputs, and monitoring them from cultivation to harvest.
Growsel Trustees are agric professionals or associations, who relate directly with farmers and determine their capacity in terms of farming experience, needs and how much they can handle. They leverage on the information at their disposal to register farmers on the Growsel platform, which qualifies them for crowd funding and for subsequent monitoring.
The Trustees’ main responsibility is to oversee farmers’ registration, carry out extension services, deliver farm inputs to the farmers and coordinate their general farming activities. The good thing is: Growsel Trustees get juicy benefits for doing their job well!
Though the Growsel Trustee Programme is growing and spreading fast, it is still open to qualified agriculture professionals and agriculture cooperative societies who are ready to help smallholder underfinanced farmers in their communities to expand their productive capacities and make the most of their farming. Interested individuals and groups can sign up for the Growsel Trustee Programme on the Growsel website.
